Why it matters
Material and mounting choice affects both long-term maintenance cost and installation sequence: floor-to-ceiling mounting in particular requires precise floor layout coordination with the finish flooring installer before anchors go in.

A school district specifies solid plastic partitions, floor-mounted, for a new building's restrooms, chosen for moisture resistance and lower long-term maintenance over the powder-coated metal typically used in the district's office buildings.
Who this matters most to
A Carpenter or specialty installer sets and anchors the partitions, coordinating layout with whoever installs the finish flooring.
Where this goes wrong
An installer sets floor-mounted partition anchors before the finish flooring installer lays out the tile pattern. The anchor bolts end up landing mid-tile instead of on a grout line, forcing the tile installer to cut awkwardly around each one.
