The estimating software the property insurance industry has largely standardized on for pricing repair work after a claim, made by Verisk's Xactware division.
What it does
Xactimate lets an adjuster, restoration contractor, or public adjuster sketch a damaged structure's layout, measure the areas affected, and price the repair using a shared, regionally localized line-item price list. Because nearly every party to a claim references the same underlying price list, a dispute over an estimate usually comes down to specific line items rather than two completely incompatible formats. A field visit can start an estimate on a tablet or phone, with the same file finished later back at a desk, so the office and field sides of the work stay in one record instead of two.
